The successful trainee shall
have knowledge of: the basic rules of human resource management on board ship; the characteristics of good leader; planning and cooperation in the team; setting objectives and distributing tasks according levels of competency; general theory of situation and risk assessment; prioritization according time and resource constraints; all the arrangements ensuring safety and security on board ship;
be able to: manage effectively the team and available resources under normal and specific circumstances; assess the degree of reliability of the communication; apply and use an appropriate method and means of communication; make an assessment of the internal and external factors affecting the normal operation of the team; apply in practice the theory and the tools for risk and situation assessment while performing their specific duties; development, implementation, and oversight of standart and emergency procedures; manage effectively the human resources on board ship.
