Duration and upcoming dates
The present course is intended for deck officers who are immediately responsible for the loading, unloading and care in transit of chemical cargoes, and who have worked on board chemical tankers as deck officers. The programme complies with the recommended y requirements for training of ships officers - Regulation V/1,A-V/1 -paragraphs 17,19,21 and of STCW 78/95 and Regulation B I-12 para 40. The course comprises matters of the chemical tanker operations – loading, stowage, care during the voyage and unloading of chemical cargoes and is held on dedicated tanker simulator.
The course is based on IMO Model Course 1.37 – “Chemical Tanker Cargo and Ballast Simulator”, INTERTANKO TOTS 4A Chemical Tanker Simulator Training Course and the Directive 2008/106/EU, as well.
On successful completion of this course the officers will make a safer and more effective contribution to the operation and control of the cargo and ballast installation on a chemical tanker, which will improve ship safety and provide greater protection of the environment. The course incorporates all the requirements of the international conventions SOLAS, MARPOL and all amendments thereto.
