ADVANCED TRAINING IN FIRE FIGHTING

The Trainees must :
- be not less than 18 years old;
- have at least secondary education
- have an appropriate seagoing service of the officer's duties in accordance with the requirements of STCW 78, as amended, and when are appointed by the ship-owner to perform these duties, to be trained in courses "Personal survival techniques ", " Elementary first aid "and "Personal Safety and social responsibilities".
- have a valid certificate for training in a course "Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting" and valid medical; certificate.
- to present signed declaration for their physical and mental fitness to participate in the practical exercises within the course.

The course provides training and preparedness of the ship's officers and other ship's personnel assigned by the Shipowners with duties to organize, lead and control fire fighting operations on board.

 The course covers the requirements of the STCW 78 (as amended) Convention, Regulation  VI /3 and Table A-VI/3 of the STCW Code, Directive 2008/106  EC, as amended by Directive 2012/35 EC and the national standard for this training as well.

The course lectures and practical exercisses and their duration is consistent with the requirements of the IMO Model Course 2.03.   

The trainees, who successfully completed the course will acquire skills and knowledge through which they can establish an organization on board, organize prevention and fire fighting. As a result of the training, the trainees should:

--know: the places and causes of fire prevention measures against fire, the combustion process, tactics and procedures for controlling different types of fires, how to coordinate the actions of coastal fire services, the rules for the preparation of emergency plans, distribution the crew in emergency groups / parties, how to prepare and conduct of crew training, shipping systems, fire alarm and fire-fighting requirements and methods for the verification of systems and equipment, procedures for investigating and documenting fires, and,

--be able to: prepare emergency plans for fire fighting, prepare plans for the training of the crew, prepare  a strategy and tactics to combat different types of fires, conduct inspections of fire alarm systems, fire protection systems and equipment to conduct an investigation and prepare a report to arise onboard fires, and to be able to manage firefighting team in real situations.

The trainees successfully completed the course, Directorate "Maritime Administration" issues a certificate "Advanced Training in Fire Fighting".

As successfully completed  the course is considered a trainee who has passed the final written test and final practical examination. 


The course can be carried out and in English - course fee: 770 BGN.
